The universal meter 81773 with a manual range for each measurement allows for basic and advanced electrical measurements. An additional protection against mechanical damage is the so-called holster - a rubber casing that fits over the device's housing.
Basic measurements:
- AC voltage measurement: A.C. 0-600 V
- DC voltage measurement: D.C. 0-600 V
- DC current measurement: D.C. 0-10 A
- Resistance measurement: 0-2 MΩ
- Diode test: IF 1 mA, UR 1.5 V
- Continuity test: 0-100 Ω
Additional measurements:
- Transistor hFe test: 0-1000, built-in measurement socket
Measurement accuracy:
Example of determining accuracy for AC voltage measurement. Calculations for the measurement result: 235 V
- The accuracy of the 81773 meter for this range is: ±(2% + 10), resolution 1 V
- Error calculation formula: (measurement result x 2%) + 10 x resolution
- Calculations: (235 x 2%) + 10 x 1 = 4.7 + 10 = 14.7 V
The result considering the measurement error for the reading 235 V = 235 ± 14.7 V*
- The result considering the measurement error for the DC voltage reading: 12 V = 12 ± 0.146 V
A table with resolution and accuracy for the given measurement can be found in the user manual.
*The 81773 meter does not have true RMS measurement capability, therefore the above result is accurate only for a proper sinusoidal waveform.
Built-in functions:
- DATA HOLD - holds the currently measured value on the display
Additional information:
- LCD display, maximum displayed result: 1999
- Screen backlight
- Audible signal in the continuity test for resistance below 30 Ω
- Measurement probes included
- Overload protection design, 10 A measurement socket without a fuse
- ABS plastic housing + the so-called holster, a rubber casing protecting the meter from mechanical damage
- Low battery indicator
- Power supply: 9V battery (6F22)

Note!
When measuring unknown values using a meter with manual range adjustment via a knob, measurements should be taken sequentially from the largest range down to the range that provides the most accurate result - otherwise, there is a risk of damaging the device.
